Become a BI-Driven Developer
Requirements
- Understanding of data warehouse design concepts (Inmon/Kimball-Star Schema)
- Solid database background to support t-sql/stored procedure development and optimization as well as understanding of newer models and concepts (e.g. event-sink, serverless computing, etc.)
- Data Modeling tools and concepts
- Solid experience utilizing Microsoft Office365 and Azure
Microsoft Power Platform Training (or equivalent):
- PowerBI – DAX, dimensional modeling, visual report design, and PowerQuery ETL/data transformation/M-scripting
- PowerApps – App design, conceptual understanding of CDS, ability to guide clients toward the right solution (canvas/model-driven/power portal/etc.)
- Custom Development – Programming experience and willingness to learn new languages is a must. Development is heaviest in data manipulation and ETL, though user interface design skills are critical for no-code/low-code projects as well.
Bonus Skills:
- Works effectively independently and in a team environment
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient with MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful - Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves logistical and work-flow related problems
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and documentation skills
